Duties of the General Administration Division
01
Maintaining records of all officers of the Western Province Department of Education, handling their compulsory retirements, salaries of migrant workers, pension payments, and loan-related matters for all staff members.

Providing various letters, applications, appeals, and instructions regarding the institutional functions of Zonal Education Offices and non-academic staff, and acting promptly on them, including disciplinary decisions and reinstatement procedures.

Effectively maintaining institutional reports and information reports related to the institutional functions of Zonal Education Offices.

Handling official telephone matters for Departmental officers and Zonal Education Office officers.

Updating information regarding all institutional matters related to requests for acting appointments. Handling matters related to 1/20 allowances and official residences.

Matters related to foreign leave include special leave for relevant activities, and educational leave for all teachers serving in provincial/national schools in the Western Province. Government coordination activities for temporary release and working for constitutional bodies, resolving teachers' institutional issues.
07
Necessary information regarding Provincial Council issues, Public Petitions Committee, Advisory Committees, Parliamentary Questions, Human Rights Commission, various judicial procedures.
